It first opened its doors to guests in April 1954, as Hotel Condestável. Lucínio Cruz, the head architect, implemented, as he himself put it, the concept of modernity in this hotel through the adoption of "practical solutions that foster guests' well-being".
The Hotel Lisboa Plaza, which is located close to Avenida da Liberdade, has been a family-run hotel since its opening and during the 50 years it has been open to the public it has received the care that only a family can provide. The Plaza is an extremely versatile hotel that manages to conciliate the requirements of everyday modern life with the elegance of the past: the decoration by Graça Viterbo and the attention to detail provide it with a home-like atmosphere, complemented and enriched by the always up-to-date infrastructures and services. This is the case of the Plaza's Buffet Restaurant, which provides a varied range of Mediterranean cuisine.
To commemorate this anniversary, the hotel has joined forces with the prestigious Moët et Chandon brand to offer a flute of champagne to all guests staying at the hotel next April.
Hotel Lisboa Plaza is part of a small chain of hotels with character - Hoteis Heritage Lisboa - in which Portuguese traditions are preserved. This restricted group of hotels includes: As Janelas Verdes, Hotel Britania and Solar Do Castelo. |
